The Rieschel Family Scholarship for Science and Technology encourages skill development and leadership in pursuit of STEM fields among college-bound students in the Big Sky and Gallatin Valley area.

The $10,000 Rieschel Family Scholarship is awarded each spring to one local high school senior.

Skills in STEM fields - science, technology, engineering and math - are in high demand to meet the needs of the 21st century. "We want to identify and encourage the passions of high school students in STEM fields," says Yucca Rieschel, a member of the Foundation's Board of Directors. "We are looking for innovative minds, creative minds, minds that inspire others, and students who want to give back to their community. These students can be anything from computer whizzes who troubleshoot networks for local nonprofits to budding environmental scientists who spend their weekends repairing trails, " Rieschel added. "We are looking for bright students who want to broaden these skills into careers and lasting community impact."
